Updates!

Ok, settle down! I need everyone's attention please!

(wow...flash back to jr. high!)

I have some announcements to make:

Donna has donated some stitch markers from her Etsy shop.
We have *almost* 400 knitters ready to knit.

A few things that have been coming up in the emails:
1) non-fun fur hats are ok... shedirs, london beanies.... just make sure they are age-appropriate!
2) colors-- all colors are cool... color combos are cool.
3) mail the hats to me. You can wait, build up a bunch, then mail them.
4) If you are attending the NETA Spa, Knit and Spin event in Portland, I will be there. I am NOT taking my own vehicle, so please do NOT hold hats for me (Amy, look for an email offline)--- I don't want to overload someone else's car.

MOST IMPORTANTLY:
please, please...don't share my physical address with anyone--- if someone needs the address, have them email me. I have had several (more than I ever thought possible) requests/offers from people to print out my "reply" email with the instructions and post it. I live around Boston and would rather not have my name, address and any other information posted in a public place, such as the gym, the grocery store or on your local cable access channel. Thank you to everyone for wanting to get this out there, but please email me to ask permission before you send my personal information out into the world. Please respect my family's privacy. thank you.

Knitting:
On the Needles:
a) 2nd toe-up, short row heel sock in Claudia's handpainted--- need these quick! getting chilly in Boston!
b) dad's sweater's sleeves... welcome to Sleeve island, enjoy your stay!
c) Emerald Sweater from Knitty....
d) fun fur hats.....

:) Mini

Ain't it great what knitterly folk will do given an opportunity? My first hat is done, sits perched atop a tall candle holder which entertains DH - he wants me to knit an extra so we can have one on display. Second hat is in the works. I'm having fun with this!

WoW!!! 400 knitters knitting hats - that is just so fantastic! I have 3 ready to go and I still have yarn for about 3 or 4 more. Taking a little break from them right now, but I'm planning to knit the rest of the yarn soon. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when all those kids receive their hairy hats :) It makes me smile every time I think about it.

400! How cool is that?! I'm really glad, mini. By the way, I would gladly donate a few skeins of Noro as a prize if you think it would be worthwhile.

Hi....I am currently knitting Picc sleeves (peripherialy inserted central catheter) for our local cancer clinic (ala KnitPicks)....but I have some Fun Fur languishing in my stash which I will be most glad to knit up into hats. Please send me the necessary info. Bet I can get some of my spinning guild friends to knit too

  7. I believe I have some fun fur taking up precious space in my stash locale. Please email me the particulars (i.e. address, date, specs, etc.) and I will see what I can do . . . . .

Hey, Mini! How will we know you at Spa? I see you walking around with little tufts of Fun Fur stuck to your clothing.

I'm going to be a greeter gnome at Spa on Saturday from 10AM to noon. I'll be thrilled to meet anyone else doing these wacky hats and, of course, Mini herself.

I just questioned a friend with a 12 year old girl about colors kids like. I couldn't believe what she told me - pink and black. Back to 1956.

This weekend my daughter drove my brother, nephew and me to see my grandmother. It was about a five hour drive and I thought I would get in some good knitting on a hat (it is halfway done). But the conversation was lively and lots of sights to see, so I am still working on it! Soon, soon!
